Two men sent to jail for probation violations. Both were back in Cass County District Court this week.
The Cassgram reports 32-year-old Jared Brooks of Plattsmouth received one year in the Cass County Jail.
Last March, Brooks was placed on 18 months probation after pleading guilty to felony domestic assault as part of a plea agreement. In October of 2010, a Plattsmouth police officer responded on foot to a domestic disturbance call about a block from the law enforcement center and upon arrival witnessed Brooks push a female down four stairs. The female was pregnant at the time with Brooks’ child. It was the second time Brooks had been convicted of assault of the woman. She gave birth a few weeks after the probation sentence was given.
Deputy Cass County Attorney Steve Sunde said Brooks violated several terms of the probation over the last year.
---19-year-old Dakota J. Mooney of Springfield, Nebraska was given a four month county jail sentence for probation violations.
Mooney had pled guilty to attempted unauthorized use of a financial transaction device, a Class I Misdemeanor, for taking a family member’s ATM card and withdrawing over $500 cash from two Cass County ATMs without the family member’s permission.
