Probation violations result in county jail sentence for 43-year-old Cass County woman. Heather A. Christensen of Louisville was sentenced to 180 days.
The Cassgram reports Christensen was on probation for a misdemeanor attempted theft by receiving conviction. Four felony charges for possession of stolen property were originally filed in 2011 but she accepted a plea agreement which resulted in the misdemeanor conviction.
A year ago her probation was extended after she failed to show for alcohol and drug testing sessions required by the probation terms.
The latest violations included not looking for suitable employment, failing to pay any of the court-ordered $139 restitution and probation costs, and failing to attend a therapy program.
Cass County District Court Judge Jeffrey Funke told Christensen she left him “no choice” but to sentence her to jail because she continues to find excuses and shirk responsibilities required by the probation.
