A Beatrice man has been given 20 to 36 months in prison for stealing computers and computer equipment from his former employer.
The Beatrice Daily Sun says 27-year-old David Barrett was sentenced in Gage County District Court on Wednesday. Barrett had pleaded no contest to a theft charge after prosecutors lowered it.
Prosecutors say Barrett had been seen in the Neapco plant area where the computers were stolen in June last year. Neapco manufactures vehicle parts.
Barrett's attorney, Jerry Shelton, said his client has been struggling to make ends meet after being fired from his job at Neapco.
