Thursday night family and friends mourn the loss of Eriana Carr. She was a teenager shot and killed Monday night. The community is coming together asking for someone to come forward with information.

“Healing will begin right now,” said one pastor.

Hundreds of people stood on the lawn where 16-year-old Eriana Carr died Monday night. Church leaders from around the city lead the group in prayer.

“This is unacceptable, we give it to you god,” said one pastor.

Their message, stand together and stop the violence.

“I think Eriana came home at the wrong time, because it wasn't meant for her. She was a good person. She was always happy,” said Montasia Montgomery.

Friends shared memories of her as a good student with a bright future.

“That was my cousin, my friend, my sister. It was out everything, it always me her, the other “Poo”. It was supposed to be us in the future. We were supposed to graduate together,” said Nautica Suggs.

Now, her life cut short, it has left everyone asking questions.

“I don’t know if they were retaliating or something but they just got the wrong person. And I hope ya'll find her,” said Cion’dra Barnes.

Eriana was a student here at Benson High School and was well known and well liked. Many of those students were at the prayer walk. And many more will gather on Friday at a Pledge for Peace Rally at 10:00 AM. The message: stop the violence before it takes another young life.

While Eriana's family is dealing with this tragedy, they are also struggling to pay for her upcoming funeral. To help defray the costs, the Eriana Carr Memorial Fund has been established at any American National Bank.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 402-444-7867.
