A thief poached packages from porches in northwest Omaha but an alert homeowner delivered a license plate number that leads to recovered of numerous packages and an arrest.
Homeowner Andrew Abrahamson said he was home working last Friday afternoon when he saw a suspicious man approaching his porch then grab a recently delivered package. Abrahamson ran outside to see a man run to a pickup in his driveway with a passenger. Abrahamson said, "You could just tell they were shocked somebody was home."
Abrahamson said he tried to stop them first by jumping on the hood then the back of the pick. But he was tossed off as they sped away, luckily not injured.
But he got a license plate number. Douglas County sheriff deputies then called Omaha police to check the home of the registered owner near 36th & Ames in Omaha. There investigators recover numerous packages..
