A teenage burglar is on the loose, and authorities across the metro are looking for him.
Police believe 17-year-old Caleb Petrick is behind a La Vista burglary and 3 others in Ralston, plus another attempted burglary. Petrick is 5’5”, 137 pounds, and will slip through a back window to get inside. He typically works during the day. Police say his bike is his main mode of transportation, and he’ll park it on the side or behind the targeted homes.
Tim Dethlefs couldn't believe that a burglar had torn apart his home a few weeks ago. He says the suspect got away with 5 firearms and hundreds of dollars in cash.
"Very frustrated, I felt violated. I thought gee wiz quiet neighborhood I thought this would never happen to me,” Dethlefs explained. "I'd like to see them prosecuted but I'd also like to see them rehabilitated."
Police say they can't find him because he doesn't have a permanent address sometimes sleeping at friends or abandoned places. The Bellevue Police Department has also had at least one run-in with the teen.
If you have any idea where Petrick is, call the Ralston Police Department at 402-331-1786. A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest. He’s considered armed and dangerous.
