A teenage driver and her passenger were taken into police custody early Wednesday morning. Police say they found the pair blocks from the scene of a crash.
Responders were called to 86th & C St. just after 2:30 a.m. for reports of a personal injury collision. They found a damaged sedan and service van, but the sedan was empty.
After a short search, police found the driver, a teenage girl, in a home near 87th and A streets. Her passenger was close by.
Police found what appeared to be marijuana in the sedan. They do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
