Not even the presence of police could stop a man from assaulting a woman early Wednesday morning. According to a police report, officers were called to a home near 36th & Pratt Street on a report of domestic violence at 4:55 a.m.
When they arrived, officers saw a man physically assaulting a 35-year old woman inside the house. When they entered the home, the man continued the attack holding her on the ground and biting her.
Officers deployed a Taser in an attempt to stop the man, but the man continued. Police were eventually able to separate the two. The suspect resisted arrest. Eventually, he was transported to Alegent Creighton University Medical Center where he continued to be uncooperative and resisted attempts to restrain him.
Officers later took 30-year old Travis Thompson to jail. He was booked for domestic violence strangulation, felony resisting arrest, and domestic violence disturbing the peace.
