An early morning bank robbery in Bellevue draws the interest of several law enforcement agencies. The robbery is very similar to one just a few months ago in Plattsmouth.

Bellevue Police and the FBI process the SAC Federal Credit Union crime scene looking for any evidence the robbers may have left behind.

The thieves used the first teller on scene to get inside.

Capt. David Stukenholtz says, "As she approached the entrance to the building she was accosted by two men."

The more they discover the more this robbery looks like another.

Back in December two men robbed the SAC Federal Credit Union in Plattsmouth using the same tactics. According to the affidavit they had been hiding in the woods next to the bank and when the first teller approached they grabbed her, took her inside, tied her up and then went through the safe.

Images of the Plattsmouth robbery were released in December. Plattsmouth Police have arrested three people for receiving stolen property as a part of that investigation.

Caleb Searcy is still in the Cass County Jail, Gabriel and Brandi Coen both bonded out in late February.

All banks have procedures to open the building. They usually involve two employees; the first one in, if the coast is clear, will open a blind or turn a light on or off, if the second employee does not see that signal they will call police immediately. We asked SAC Federal Credit Union if it was going to review its procedures to open a building, they had no comment.

Police found thousands of dollars from the Plattsmouth bank robbery in the possession of Searcy and the Coens. The Plattsmouth robbers spread bleach around the bank in an apparent effort to destroy any evidence.
