Update: Shooting Victim Identified

Omaha police have identified a man critically injured in a shooting at 30th and Leavenworth on Monday afternoon.

According to police, 25-year-old Bryan Morales is in critical condition with life threatening injuries.

Initial radio reports indicated Morales was shot in the abdomen and chest.

Emergency crews arrived to find Morales on the ground.

A neighbor tells WOWT 6 News that he heard two bursts of gunshots. By the time he got outside, police were on the scene.

Jackson Elementary School, less than a block away from the shooting, was put into lockdown. No one at the school was injured. The lockdown lasted for 30 minutes until school officials were given the all-clear from police.

There was no initial word on a suspect or on the circumstances of the shooting. But reports were that a suspect fled in a grey Ford Taurus.
