Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer announced the firing Friday of three officers and a command officer. The discipline is part of an internal investigation after a rough arrest which was recorded on video March 21.
Schmaderer also announced that he is using the FBI as an outside reviewer of his internal investigation.
The police chief stressed that his investigation is still ongoing, but the bulk of it is complete. He said the police union contract prohibits him from revealing some details including the names of the officers involved.
Three other officers have been either placed on administrative leave with pay. Another has been reassigned.
