Omaha police are investigating a car chop shop operation. The investigation began after an 18 year old was carjacked at gunpoint June 18th in the Oakview Mall parking lot.
"Most of the time you don't expect a gun in your face for a car," said the carjacking victim.
That victim called police right away, giving descriptions of the suspects and of his recently stolen set of wheels.
Only a day later police were able to track his stolen car back to L Street Self Storage, a storage unit company.
When police arrived, they discovered several men inside two of the storage units disassembling two vehicles.
One of those vehicles found was the victim's stolen 2006 Acura RSX.
An affidavit released states the second vehicle that was found was also reported stolen too. Three other cars were also found in various states of disassembly with numerous car parts lining the walls of the leased units.
The affidavit said the units were leased by Felipe Molina Jr.
Police also searched Molina's household, inside they found insurance information similar to the victim's stolen car and one other item.
"I mean no matter what if someone wants to steal something from you they are going to do it, they will figure out a way," said the victim.
