Bellevue police say both drivers involved in a head-on collision were drunk and neither had proof of insurance.
Investigators said a car heading northbound in the southbound lanes of 36th Street hit an oncoming SUV near Capehart Road.
Firefighters had to free 24-year-old Page Brooks of La Vista, who was pinned inside the car. She was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in serious condition and was later cited for driving under the influence of alcohol first offense, driving left of center and having no proof of insurance.
The driver of the SUV, 28-year-old Aaron Landstrom of Bellevue was not injured. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol first offense and having no proof of insurance.
