It's the only time you can safely tell your kids to go play in the street. Play Streets, a free event for children and families has been going on throughout the summer in Omaha. Saturday, part of Farnam Street around 17th was blocked off with games, everything from fencing to basketball.
Parents enjoyed having a place for their kids to play. “Anything to get them off the couch."
"That's right and outside," said another parent. "We were very happy that this was going on today."
This was the third Play Streets this summer. The last one will be held on North 24th Street between Lake and Parker from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 24th.
