Make a gingerbread house, take a holiday hayrack ride or search for the yule log at Platte River State Park (SP) this weekend.
Platte River SP will offer a variety of traditional holiday activities on Saturday, Dec. 21 beginning at 10 a.m.
Families are invited to make gingerbread houses, birdhouses, Christmas cards and holiday ornaments. Santa will make an appearance from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
At 4 p.m., teams of three or four will be provided with clues to search for the yule log. After the yule log quest, families can make s'mores or have dinner around a bonfire. Park staff will also offer lighted hayrack rides.
All activities are free, though there will be cost for the food and s'mores. A park entry permit is required. For more information, call the park office at 402-234-2217.
