Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman and military officials will unveil a new Medal of Honor plaque inside the State Capitol on Veterans Day.

Heineman will be joined by Lt. Col. Charles Hagemeister, one of Nebraska's two living Medal of Honor recipients, and Maj. Gen. Daryl Bohac, Adjutant General of the Nebraska National Guard, to unveil the new plaque Monday. The plaque honors the 72 Nebraskans who have been awarded the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism on the battlefield.

The plaque will be unveiled by Hagemeister, an Army veteran who earned his Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War. Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Heavican will read the names of the 72 Nebraskans who have been awarded the Medal of Honor.
