The murder trial against Dontavis “Mississippi” McClain continued Monday in Douglas County Court for his role as “co-conspirator” in the murder of Christopher Taylor. Deputy County Attorney John Alagaban called Shari Scott to the stand as a state's witness Monday morning.
The victim, Christopher Taylor, was lured to an empty apartment outside city limits in September 2010. He was robbed and stabbed to death.
Testifying Monday, Shari Scott was a neighbor of the boys involved in the case. That includes McClain, who is known as “Mississippi” among friends, and Bryton Gibbs, who has already convicted of stabbing the victim and sentenced to 100 years.
Two other neighbors, Larry Fountain and Marcus Robinson, are still awaiting trial as accomplices.
McClain allegedly told investigators that after luring the victim to the apartment, Gibbs “went crazy” and committed the murder.
