Update: Suspect Arrested In Ralston Hit-And-Run

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured a woman in a Ralston apartment complex Sunday night.

Thirty-five-year-old Jason Houston faces a charge of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Additional charges may come later. The victim was hit at the Fireside Village apartments near 84th and Harrison just after 10 p.m.

Don Harman was a witness. "We looked out the window to see a lady being pretty much dragged down the driveway here." A man in a silver van was driving with the woman somehow attached to the door. "He started to take off, her hand got like stuck in the door handle and she tripped on the uneven rocks and stuff and got dragged down the alley."

Harman and Tina Neely called 911 and went to the woman's aid. "I asked if she was okay and she let out a blood-curdling 'no,'" said Harman. "So I jumped over the balcony and I basically stayed with her until paramedics got there."

The woman was taken to Nebraska Medical Center for treatment and released. Her name has not been disclosed.
