The Omaha Press Club honors Oscar-winning film director Alexander Payne on Friday as the next Face on the Barroom Floor.

Payne will be the 139th Face on the Barroom Floor, an Omaha Press Club tradition that began in 1971. A caricature of Payne will be unveiled at the conclusion of the roast.

Two of Payne's movies, "Sideways" and "The Descendants," won Oscars for best adapted screenplay. Comic actor Will Forte will headline Payne's slate of roasters. Forte is starring in Payne's newest movie, "Nebraska."

The cost for dinner is $50 for those who don't belong to the club. Call 402-345-8008 to make a reservation.

Payne was born in Omaha February 10, 1961 and attended Creighton Prep High School. His movies, often shot in and around the metro, include "Citizen Ruth, Election," and "About Schmidt."
