When was the last time you practiced your basketball free throws? An Omaha pastor got plenty of practice Wednesday, shooting for a good cause.
Pastor Bruce Davis of St. Andrews United Methodist Church at 150th Street and West Maple Road spent the morning shooting 1,000 free throws to raise money to protect children in Africa from malaria. Money raised will go to buy mosquito nets to protect the children while they sleep.
For $10, you could guess how many free throws he would actually make. “It's amazing what ibuprofen, some strong coffee and Gatorade will do at this time of morning."
Each mosquito net costs $10. Pastor Davis said they had already raised more than $30,000.
