Moments before the board voted him into the position, they put him through a final interview. Board President Valerie Fisher said she was impressed by Dr. Rickli's knowledge of the district.
Dr. Rickli won't be moving far for the position. He spent the past nine years working in the Westside School district.
On Wednesday night, Dr. Rickli shared his ideas for the district. He said decisions would be a collaborative effort with those who work closest with the kids.
Dr. Rickli will assume the position in July. He signed a three-year contract and will make $200,000 in his first year.
