A month-long investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department ended Friday morning with the arrest of two people for allegedly running a marijuana growing operation inside their Omaha home.
Investigators with a search warrant entered the house at 4311 Ridgeway Road near 105th and Boyd and found 258 marijuana plants in the basement. Two handguns were also taken from the residence.
The growing operation included a timed lighting system, CO2 and a large air filtering system. Thirty-two harvested plants were also drying in another basement room.
The residents, 55-year-old Cynthia Aleksonis and 41-year-old Robbie Sams, were both charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of a handgun while manufacturing marijuana.
