Oregon Man Pleads No Contest In Nebraska Pot Case

A 50-year-old Oregon man who was arrested while hauling 20 pounds of marijuana through Nebraska has pleaded no contest.

Published reports reveal Douglas Sutton, of Gold Hill, made his plea last week after making a deal with prosecutors, who lowered the charge to possessing more than a pound. Sutton's sentencing is scheduled for March 19.

The Nebraska State Patrol says Sutton was driving east on Nov.
11 when he was pulled over on Interstate 80 in York County for failing to signal.

The pot was found in the trunk during a search of the car.

Sutton's passenger, 63-year-old Mark Butler, of Reno, Nevada
pleaded no contest Jan. 11 to possessing less than an ounce of marijuana. He was fined $300.
