A 51-year-old man was killed in a crash Saturday evening near Blair.
Douglas Sheriff's report that Herbert Coston, Junior was southbound when he veered off of Calhoun Road, struck a utility pole, and came to rest in a ditch. The accident happened on Calhoun Road near Highway 75 at Yew Lane in extreme northeastern Douglas County.
Coston was transported by Ponca Volunteer Fire Department to Creighton University Medical Center where he later died. Police say speed was a factor and add that Coston was not wearing a seat belt.
