Rock Bluffs School open house. Cass County Historical Society will have an open house at its one-room school on Sunday (6/16) from 2pm to 4pm. Lemonade and cookies will be served. The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help with maintenance and repairs.
The Cassgram reports the school building was constructed in 1870 and was originally called “Naomi Institute”. The institute closed in 1872, but re-opened as a public school named “Rock Bluffs”. Classes continued to be held until 1969. The building was donated to Cass County Historical Society and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
