A Zanesville, Ohio man is out of the hospital and now in jail. Omaha police say Evan Shiplett was driving drunk when he crashed last Friday, killing a passenger.

Shiplett was booked for motor vehicle homicide.

Police say the 30-year-old Shiplett lost control of the pickup on the westbound I-480 off-ramp to North 30th Street around 6 p.m. The truck went off the highway and rolled over, ejecting 19-year-old Matthew Doty of Council Bluffs, who died of his injuries. Another passenger, 18-year-old Jacob Levene of Neola, Iowa, was not hurt.

No one was wearing a seat belt.
