A Ceresco, Nebraska man was sentenced Wednesday to 4-5 years in prison for vehicular homicide.

Thirty-nine-year-old Damian Smith pleaded no contest in Lancaster County District Court after prosecutors lowered the charge from manslaughter. Smith received credit for 446 days already served.

Authorities say Smith's northbound SUV ran a stop sign near Waverly around 1:30 a.m. on November 4, 2012 and collided with an eastbound SUV. Twenty-four-year-old Seth Coats of Lincoln later died of his injuries at a Lincoln hospital. Four others in Coats' vehicle and one in Smith's vehicle were injured in the crash.
