Rate adjustments passed in Weeping Water. The likely need for water and sewer infrastructure upgrades led to the approval of a 5% increase in water and sewer rates.
The Cassgram reports In September the Weeping Water City Council directed the ordinances be drawn up for consideration. All three council members present at this month’s meeting voted in favor of the ordinances.
Council minutes said there are water and sewer system improvements that will likely be needed to maintain adequate service and to meet mandated compliance measures.
The last rate hike for water and sewer fees was in 2007.
