Omaha Man Arrested, Suspected in Sioux City Crimes

Authorities say an Omaha man may be responsible for breaking into a 10-year-old's room, and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old.

35-year-old Jason Barrow is charged with One Count of Burglary, and is being held at DCC for an incident in South Omaha when police got a call about a “prowler”. Authorities say a neighbor saw a man looking into a woman's windows. When police arrived, they saw the man hiding on the front porch of the home. He tried to get away by jumping off and was cuffed.

A search warrant says Barrow may be connected to sex crimes and home invasions in Sioux City, Iowa. The report says a man performed lewd acts while watching a woman inside her home. Police say a suspect with the same description broke into a house and sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl, and broke into a 10-year-old girl's room at a different home but ran away when she screamed. The incidents happened in the early morning hours of May 25th. The Sioux City Police Department says Barrow is a suspect but hasn't been charged.

Authorities say an anonymous tipster saw his vehicle in Sioux City at the time of the crimes. Barrow has ties to the Sioux City area.

The search warrant said police confiscated a pair of sneakers which could be important since Sioux City Police identified shoe prints outside of each of the crime scenes.

Barrow is being held on $250,000 bond for the one count of Burglary in Douglas County. His next court appearance is in July.
