Omaha police are now investigating property damage accidents again after suspending their investigation of fender benders on Wednesday as the snowstorm moved through the metro.
The investigations resumed Thursday evening but were suspended again Friday afternoon. Police resumed taking calls on the accidents shortly after 10 p.m. Friday.
The city experienced a snow emergency and crews have worked to clean streets and treat road surfaces to help thaw packed snow and ice. The snow emergency ended at midnight Friday.
Motorists had been advised to move their vehicles to a safe location and exchange information including addresses, phone numbers and insurance information. Only in cases of injury or vehicles blocking traffic were they to call 911.
