An Omaha man is Douglas County Corrections on homicide charge. Channel 6 News has learned the victim had been staying at a downtown homeless shelter and the suspect was recently banned from the facility.
Last Thursday, February 14 -- officers responded to a “party down” in an alley near 17th & Nicholas.
The victim, Kueth Guor, 38, of Omaha, later died from his injuries at Creighton University Medical Center. He had been beaten to death.
His friends at the Siena/Francis House called him Chris.
"Even though he had a drinking problem, he got along great with everybody. He was loved by everybody -- he joked around and loved to do that," said Brad Polchow with the Siena/Francis House.
Guor had been staying at the shelter for the last two years.
Homicide Detectives arrested and booked Samuel Sprunger, 31, of Omaha, for Criminal Homicide.
Staff at the shelter tell Channel Six News -- Sprunger had recently been banned from the facility for 30 days because of behavior problems.
