The Omaha Police Department issued more than 700 citations during its two-week long Click It or Ticket campaign.
The campaign ran May 19 through June 1; 10 operations were conducted throughout the city. The following citations were issued:
Pre surveys were conducted at five intersections in the city showing a 56% seatbelt usage rate prior to the campaign. Post surveys were conducted at the same five intersections after the campaign with the results showing a 64% seatbelt usage rate.
The Omaha Police Department wants to continue to alert the public that wearing a seatbelt is the best way to reduce your chances of death or serious bodily injury should you be involved in a motor vehicle collision.
