Omaha Parks Receives Tree Donation

The Nebraska Forest Service ReTree Program donated 26 trees that were planted by the City of Omaha’s Forestry crew Monday morning.

The trees were planted at White Hawk and Elmwood Park at 9:00a.m.

Year-to-date the City of Omaha’s Forestry crew has planted over 450 trees.

City of Omaha Parks Department Acting Director, Brook Bench, said: “We are delighted to receive this donation; it’s great to have community support for positive projects that help increase our cities tree canopy. “

The primary goal of ReTree Nebraska is to plant one million high-quality and diverse trees in Nebraska by 2017.
