Stinson Park in Aksarben Village will be the backdrop to Omaha Beer Fest, celebrating all things American craft beer.
The third annual, two day Omaha Beer Fest will take place June 7th and 8th. Nebraska’s growing craft beer culture can taste and appreciate specialty brews from all over the country at what is again expected to be the largest craft beer festival in Nebraska.
Hundreds of unique craft beers will be available for tasting from 50 American craft breweries.
Brewers and representatives from many of the breweries will be on hand to sample their crafts and meet their fans.
Several breweries will make their debut this year at the festival, including Funkwerks (Fort Collins, CO), Blind Tiger (Topeka, KS), Brewery Ommegang (Cooperstown, NY), Millstream (Amana, IA), Mad
River (Blue Lake, CA), as well as several new Nebraska breweries including Ploughshare (Lincoln), Zipline (Lincoln) and Benson (Omaha).
Seminars, comparative tastings and special pairings will be offered throughout the event at the on-site Beer Academy.
Presenters include Brad Lincoln, co-founder of Funkwerks, Alex Carlton, owner/brewer at CIB Brewery, Craig Pijanowski, brewer at Boulevard Brewing Co, Matt Stinchfield, Owner/Certified Cicerone at Ploughshare Brewing Co, and John Matson, Cider Maker from Vermont Hard Cider.
Friday night, ticket holders will enjoy the popular Homebrewer Expo, where guests can taste through dozens of experimental brews created by members of local homebrewer clubs.
Attendance to all events supports Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. Sponsors include JM Web Designs, Z-92, ESPN AM 590, DRAFT Magazine, Craft Beer Junkie, Wohlner’s Grocery, Deffenbaugh Industries, Aksarben Village and Nebraska Beer Blog.
