An investigation is underway into how $150,000 was misappropriated from a youth soccer club's funds.
The Phoenix Futbol Club's attorney says the financial irregularities were discovered after a new treasurer performed an audit. The club's board wrote in a letter to parents and supporters that accountants and the IRS helped determine the money was missing.
Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov says he will review the case once the investigation is complete.
More than 300 kids from the Omaha-metro area between the ages of 5 and 19 participate in the club. The board says the investigation will not interfere with the season.
