An early morning stand-off ended peacefully Wednesday after the suspect and another person were "gassed" out of an Omaha home.

Members of the Fugitive Task Force went to the residence near North 56th and Sprague around 6 a.m. in an attempt to located a wanted man, 36-year-old Frederick Patterson. Officers announced their presence and Patterson refused to come out. Additional officers arrived at 6:20 a.m. and SWAT was requested.

Patterson’s brother was also inside the house. He was not being held against his will.

Negotiators continued to talk with Patterson, but he still refused to cooperate. Shortly before 11 a.m. officers deployed tear gas inside the residence. Patterson’s brother exited before police took Patterson into custody. He was booked for a parole violation, a felony warrant from Sarpy County and a misdemeanor warrant from Douglas County.

"He was on parole for the original charge of robbery and also a Sarpy County warrant for flight to avoid arrest," said OPD Officer Michael Pecha.
