Cameras help police watch several areas at once.
A new cruiser for Ralston police. But officer Jeremy Leifeld doesn't need to charge across town to check out suspicious activity Officer Leifeld said, " While I'm sitting in this park I can look at the other parks in the city."
Wifi allows allows an officer to dial in one or all of the cameras that watch over public places live or recorded..Anthony Fasano, a park user says, "Big brother is always watching, he really is."
But its helping keep park goers safe. Anthony Fasano said, "With the kids getting out of school they're going to be playing in the parks and everything its good to know they're going to be able to watch them from every angle."
Another set of cameras give police a good look inside Ralston Arena from entrances to box office and even if patrolling here they can watch across town. The $35,000 camera and server system is aimed at the Arena only.
Several of the cameras are portable and like a silent alarm.
Chief Ron Murtaugh said, "It has motions sensors so we can have it detect motion and send a text message or email to the officers."
