Officer Sees Man Drop Gun, Arrest Follows

A Lincoln man was jailed Sunday after dropping a gun in front of a corrections officer who notified police.

The corrections officer spotted the man in the 1900 block of Mulberry Street around 12:15 a.m. with something in his waistband that dropped to the ground. Police caught up with 25-year-old Joshua Vanderharr. A .40-caliber revolver was recovered.

Vanderharr faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon and unlawful possession of a handgun, both misdemeanors. Investigators are trying to determine who the gun belongs to.
