A Nebraska State Patrol trooper called for backup Sunday night, after a routine traffic stop took a wild turn.
Police say it began on 24th Street near L. The trooper tried to stop a car that didn't have any plates on it. Instead of pulling over, the driver started speeding south.
The driver went to take the turn onto L st, when he missed the turn and hit the curb.
One passenger jumped out of the car and began running.
Four other people inside stayed.
The trooper caught up with the car, held the driver at gunpoint and called for help.
Nine cruisers responded to the "Help An Officer" call. Police don't know why driver would not stop.
