The Omaha Police Department will be part of the Presidential Protection Detail Team at the Inauguration in Washington, D.C. later this month.
Twelve OPD officers will assist with the Inauguration from January 19th through the 22nd, 2013.
This is the third Presidential Inauguration that OPD officers have assisted with. During the 2009 Inauguration, OPD sent 10 officers. Officers will assist with security and crowd control.
