No One Hurt, Though Train Derailment Leaves A Mess

Union Pacific railroad crews spent Sunday cleaning up a mess southeast of Fairbury, Nebraska after 41 coal cars derailed.

The derailment happened around 1 a.m. Officials with the railroad and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department say no one was injured. Heavy equipment was brought in to clean up the coal and clear the damaged rail cars.

It wasn't immediately known what caused the derailment. The train was headed for St. Louis.
