The next section of North 144th Street in Northwest Omaha is set to begin March 1.
Many remember that in 2012, crews widened the street between West Dodge Road and Blondo from two lanes to four. The project lasted through the spring & summer months before wrapping up early in the fall.
Beginning March 1 this year, crews will continue the widening project from Blondo to West Maple Road.
If you want to be technical about it, the work will run from Franklin Street which is just south of Blondo to about 20 feet north of Corby Street, give or take.
City Engineer Todd Pfitzer tells Channel 6 News that like last year, crews will manage to keep traffic flowing during the widening project.
The project also means the walking & biking trails between West Maple and Blondo will be closed.
