A Kansas newspaper carrier is hospitalized after being stabbed 10 times while working his route before dawn.
The Hutchinson News reports that 61-year-old Alan Miler was attacked around 6 a.m. Wednesday while delivering papers from his adult tricycle.
Police were looking for a motive and a suspect. The attacker was described as an unknown white male, about 19 years old, wearing a
dark hooded sweatshirt.
The man ran from the scene after the stabbing.
Miler was reported in fair condition at a Hutchinson hospital after emergency surgery to his chest and abdomen.
A Hutchinson News circulation manager describes Miler as a reliable worker who's only called in sick once in more than 10 years. Lori Dunbar says he delivers the newspaper on his tricycle even in the snow.
