A new voice will fill Omaha's radio airwaves starting on February 11th. NewsRadio 1110 KFAB announced that nationally acclaimed talk radio host, Chris Baker, will return to Omaha to host weekday afternoons from 4-7:00 p.m.
A touring comic, Baker started his radio career with WIOD-AM in Miami before his stand-up travels brought him to the Funny Bone in Omaha. In 1996, he took over afternoons on KKAR-AM and within a year brought the station to record-high ratings. After spending some time as morning host on the former 101.9 The Edge rock station, Baker followed his true love of talk radio to stations in Minneapolis, Houston and Kansas City, Missouri. He has also been a regular guest pundit on Fox News, CNN and MSNBC. In addition, Baker serves as a fill-in host on Glenn Beck’s nationally syndicated radio program, heard 2-4:00 p.m. on 1110 KFAB.
“When I was a comic on the road, the Omaha Funny Bone was my favorite club to play because Omaha always had great audiences and great people,” said Baker. “When I was offered a radio gig here in 1996, I jumped at the opportunity. KFAB is a legendary Midwest radio powerhouse and I’m excited to join the team.”
“Chris Baker is an exceptional talent, and we’re looking forward to adding his unique blend of hard-hitting commentary and humor to our already strong lineup on 1110 KFAB,” said Gary Sadlemyer, KFAB’s Program Director and Morning Show Host.
