New Student Registration At Elkhorn This Week

New students can get registered Tuesday and Wednesday at Elkhorn Public Schools.

Open registration for students who are new to the district runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

It gives parents and students a chance to check out their new school and meet some of the staff.

Dan Radicia is the principal at Elkhorn High School.

“When parents come in to meet the principals and the counselors for that new registration, they're excited,” says Radicia. “Because it's a new beginning for their child. And if the school can be a place that welcomes them and knows that we have their children's best interest at heart, it's going to be a partnership to remember.”

For students coming from another state, parents will need to bring medical information as well as a birth certificate and proof of residency. Or instead, parents can just sign a records request form and have a student's records sent directly from a previous school.
