What used to be a parking lot in downtown Papillion is being transformed into a public plaza. Construction is underway at First and Washington Streets on the First Street Plaza.
It will be an all new public space that will include new landscaping and limestone features as well as a fountain and public restrooms.
The city plans to use the space for public events like concerts, parades and farmers markets. The city hopes to have the plaza open by late May or early June.
