After a year of controversy the Omaha School Board is beginning a new chapter with a relatively fresh start.
Nine board members took the oath of office Monday night. Six of those are newly elected. The board was recently shrunk down by the legislature from twelve to nine members. The legislature also called for a new spring election.
The three incumbents are Sarah Brumfield, Marian Fey, and Justin Wayne.
The new members are Lou Ann Goding, Lacey Merica, Matt Scanlan, Marque Snow, Katie Underwood, and Yolanda Williams.
Snow told Channel Six, "We've been meeting quite frequently getting to know each other and getting to know the staff and the faculty here. We are really excited for the new superintendent and everything. We are ready to roll."
Justin Wayne was elected the Board President. Marian Fey held the title previously.
