It's day one of open enrollment for those looking to get coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Workers at One World Community Health Center, at 30th and L Street, said they've had a steady stream of people looking for information.
Several counselors have been on hand at One World to answer clients' questions and the new insurance options. Handouts are available to clients and many were given a tutorial on how to use the government's website.
Zachary Schulte told WOWT 6 News after spending several years being uninsured, due to a pre-existing condition, he's optimistic about the new coverage.
He said, “There's a lot of stuff to go through! It's going to be a process, but I think that will be a good thing for all of us in the long run, from what I hear and what I see so far.”
