Neighbors Want More Work On Vacant House

The home near 52nd and Jones is at the southern cornerstone of the Dundee-Memorial park neighborhood. Monday, Six On Your Side and the President of the association found the gate to the privacy fence on the driveway wide open. Drivers passing by on 52nd street could see overgrown trees and an open detached garage.

Dave Schinzel of the Dundee-Memorial Park Association said, “It needs to be cleaned up and secured so it’s not open as it is right now for anyone to walk right in.”

Neighbor Kevin hardy said, “Close the gates and make it look like somebody kind of lives there and its worth what they are asking for it.”

The trustee for the home is Deutsche Bank, but a spokesman said maintenance is up to a loan servicing company. A spokesperson for American Home Mortgage Servicing told Six On Your Side the company has already paid for yard clean-up and repairing the privacy fence.

However, she said the real estate agent will inspect the property again and do what it takes to respond to neighbor complaints
