Investigators are still unraveling Tuesday's chase and capture of three suspects. The chase came to an end at the bottom of a steep hill near 70th and Blondo.

It's easy to see why the K-9 units were called in to find the third suspect. He was hiding in the thick brush on the side of a hill. But the chase that ended at 70th and Blondo traveled through the surrounding neighborhood for more than 10 minutes and allegedly went through yards and parks along the way.

On Wednesday some people were just discovering the damage done to their property.

Veronica Dowda knew about Tuesday's chase and capture near St. Pius Elementary. It all came to an end just a few blocks from her home. "I talked to my son last night and said that's just up the hill, but we didn't hear anything, nothing."

When Veronica stepped outside Wednesday she saw just how close she came to being a part of the action. Her neighbor's fence was down and the tracks from the car visible in her back yard. "So he just missed it by inches because this is one track here and one track here."

Police say they have the three people in the car. Amber Gladden and Michael Hatfield were captured immediately, but the third person fled on foot and was hiding in the thick brush on the side of the hill.

Officers sent the dog in after him and soon Patrick Cummings was also under arrest. Police searched the hillside and say they recovered a "wad" of money and suspected meth that was allegedly tossed from the car.

Police and prosecutors are still sorting out what charges to file against which suspect. Right now Gladden and Hatfield face drug charges, Cummings is being held for obstructing.
